Looking for a bit of advice really, as to which would be "faster".
I have 2 Western Digital WD5000AAKX 500GB.
I have 4 Seagate Barracuda's ST3500320AS 500GB.
Doing some simple HDTune tests, the WD drives have faster read, write and burst, and are SATA III, the Seagate's are SATA II and are about 10-20% slower read and write and significantly slower burst.
I have an Asus Sabertooth 990FX AMD 990FX so plenty of capacity for all things SATA.
What do you guys think would be the best compromise? Should I stick with my current setup which is just AHCI of the WD drives, put all 4 Seagates in RAID or the 2 WD's in RAID or flog them all and buy an SSD
Thanks for any advice,
Chris.
