Raid, AHCI and IDE

Hi Guys,

Question:-

On my Asus P6T Deluxe, by having the HDD mode set to RAID, does this also enable ACHI?

AFAIK yes it does.

Used to have Win XP and Win 7 dual boot on a RAID 0 array but recently purchased SSD and scrapped the XP install.

Due to some issues with Win 7 I wanted to install XP again, only to realise that the standard install wouldn't support the AHCI mode that I had switched too.

With my old raid setup, I used a floppy with some intel drivers which I would assume could also be used at install of XP to make it work with AHCI.

Yes, AHCI is a sub-set of RAID.

I've had a few issues recently when setting it to ACHI, so I found an article stating that with intel chipsets set it to RAID. Need to dig it out again, but basically since doing this my reinstall has been better.
