RAID and NAS

I bought a 4-bay NAS via MM last month, and now have some time to set it up. I bought a couple of 3TB WD Reds which I'm going to set up in RAID1. If I want to add another couple of drives later on, do I have to rebuild the NAS, or should I just be able to whack the additional drives in, tell the NAS I want to add them to the existing RAID1 capacity and job done?

Probably depends on the NAS. Some allow hot expansions, some don't.
