What happens to a RAID array when you transfer them to a new motherboard?
I have 2 SATA HDDs in a RAID 1 config, but want to install a new mobo on my PC. I know that RAID 1 means that the information is duplicated and so just plugging one HDD in would give me my data back unharmed, but how would I go about transferring both disks? Is there a piece of data on the HDDs that would tell a RAID controller that these disks are already RAIDed up and just to continue using them as such?
Would it be different if I had a RAID 0 array?
Many thanks.
