just found a really old server and have salvaged some bits, we're not going to use them at work so id like to know if this is any good:

Qlogic
ISP10160A
2405253
MKF135

thats what it says on the chip

i know onboard RAID is a waste of time and seeing as we have some old SCSI drives here at work i was thinking of a SCSi RAID setup for home, depending on how usefull this would be :)

cheers

Well it's Ultra160 so no slouch but other than that there isn't a lot of information to go on in terms of what RAID levels it supports, what the driver support etc is like. It might be worth looking at the drives first and seeing whether they're worth using.

it was running a RAID5 config before iirc, 3x18.4GB ultra160 seagates, 1x36gb Seagate, 1x36gb maxtor ultra320 drive

got some seagate cheatahs that arent being used in the server room (must have about 10-15 working SCSi drives that probably wont ever get used, though there all at least 4 years old)

might try it out just for the hell of it, dont know what use id have for RAID5 at home mind you :p
