I've been having regular failures with my RAID setup in both 0 and 1 mode, and I don't know if it is the RAID card or that the HDD's are slightly different that are causing the problem.
(I've used the SMART tool and the HDD's themselves seem to be error free. But if I run the tool with RAID, it crashes.)
My HDD's
WD2500JD (channel 0) 232.82GB
WD2500AAJS (channel 1) 232.88 GB
My RAID card:
A-390, PCI SATA RAID Card, 2 x int SATA, www.st-lab.com
Please help me. Should I buy a new RAID controller? Another HDD? Or should I just not bother with RAID for gaming? When it is working, the performance improvement is noticeable.
