Hey Guys,
I'm currently having a problem... On a Asus Rampage 2 Gene
Before I had two raptors, 74gb running in a Raid 0 array, the drive on sata port 1 kept failing so I thought the drive was broken.
I replaced them (both raptors) with two Sammy's F3 1TB 7200rpm in raid 1 and put the working raptors in my gf's rig as OS/game drive...
Pretty decent drives so far, but I've had some random BSOD's and now this drive is also failing on sata port 1... I've had to rebuild it two times now!
After that it's OK for a while, but I noticed the drives are not as fast as they are supposed to be.
In the meanwhile the old maxtor 200gb in my girlfriends rig was dieing so I put the 'dead'/'broken raptor along with her good working raptor in and it is working PERFECTLY.
I'm now thinking the raid controller on my Asus Rampage 2 Gene is broken? What do you guys think?
Would it be a good test to try the failing HD on another sata port for testing purpose?
Also I've not got the receipt for the board...
Bought it from someone here in The Netherlands... You think I can let it repair at an Asus Centre here?
