RAID controller problems on P35-DS4

I'll be happily using the PC when it BSODs seemingly at random. I'll reboot and the RAID thing will only pick up 2 of my three raptors. I'll check the cables etc, all are fine then I'll fire it up for it to pick the drives in the wrong port order, ie 1,2,3,4,5,0

Then I'll reboot again and the PC will work fine. If I swap the drives over then the same happens eliminating a faulty HDD. I've also changed all the cables leading me to suspect that something is wrong with the ICH9R controller. Anyone else had any issues? Using F9 BIOS.

I had problems with memory using that bios, the F11 bios seems fine mate, might be worth upgrading. Sorry I can't help you with the raid. The only problems I had with the sata connectors was using a "Y" power splitter on the drives, three drives were not seen. I changed it and all is fine now.

Keeps doing this, it's so frustrating. One min it's working fine, the next it's not. I'm really stumped, but it's always port 0.

I have this board and thinking of updating the BIOS, however not entirely sure of the version number, and whether i would see an improvement in stability.

In CPU-Z it says Rev A2 (thinking this means revision 2), and currently running the F7 BIOS.

Any help appreciated

Cheers

All versions of the P35 DS4 use the same BIOS.
