Since i've got my SSD every time i boot i get a screen which is there for a brief couple of seconds and then carry's on booting.

It's asking me to set up a raid controller or something, now i don't have a clue what this is, so can someone shed some light on what i need to do as i'd quite like to get rid of it, so it increases my boot time by that little bit. Not that its slow! I didn't really notice it as i turn on my pc walk away and go make coffee or something but today i sat there while it booted and noticed it.

onboard sata controller, either the secondary one, or the primary if set to raid mode. settings in bios.

I've got a 256GB SSD with my OS on and then a 1TB HDD with games and other stuff on.

I can push CRTL + I and it takes me to a screen to create some raid volume or something.

What do i do with the settings in the BIOS because i know they are there, i just don't know what they do.

in the bios you will see the sata ports.

you will get the option to set them to IDE, ACHI or RAID, set the sata ports to ACHI and then you shouldn't get the raid options on boot up

as above, have the standard ports set to AHCI, if you have a secondary controller, asmedia/jmicron etc, turn it off if you are not using it. Although it could be the controller for your esata ports, so you might want it on.

Look in parts of your bios that are raid related. Change "raid" to "AHCI" if you get a blue screen on bootup, change it to the other option (IDE/Legacy, something like that) or google how to fiddle the needed file changes.
