Raid has failed - eek!

I've just turned my PC on tonight and it's flashed up during boot that the RAID 0 that I have setup has failed...that's never happened before.

I was using it earlier today with no problems and everything shut down fine - no crashes etc.

My boot drives (on RAID 5) are fine but the data drives (RAID 0) won't load up.

Nothing is showing for them in 'My Computer' or when you click manage drives.

How do I rescue a RAID setup that has failed??? The RAID controller is just on the ASUS P5B-Deluxe motherboard.

Many thanks in advance *worried*

Are you insane? Your data is on raid0 whilst the boot is on raid5?? Surely the wrong way around. I hope you have a backup as its very unlikely you will be able to recover a broken raid0 array.

Feel for you, its a nightmare to loose data.
Good luck though. :)

Hi, thanks for the prompt replies, it's much appreciated!

No I'm not insane (though it does drive me round the twist sometimes!)

I have all my important data etc. on the RAID 5 but games and MP3s etc. was on the RAID 0.

Strangly it's booted today with no problems at all, managed to access everything...very strange.

Needless to say I'm backed everything up to an external drive and will see how it goes.

It only happened last night so I haven't had a chance to have a good look yet, it could be a loose cable or something similar, I'll plunge in tonight and have a rummage around...fingers crossed it all works OK now though!
