Raid HDD Park/Spin down after so long

I currently have my O.S installed on my SSD and have a Raid 0 array with some other bits and bobs on it.

My question is...

if I am not using anything on that array after about 10 minutes or so the pair of drives spin down and thus the system becomes a little quieter, is there anyway to change the time these spin down or is it just written in to the firmware of the drives. Obviously navigating to my computer and clicking on the array drives spins them back up and within seconds I can view my documents again.

There's an option in advanced power settings to set the interval for the drives to power down.

You could try that and see if it works for your RAID array.

Cheers mate I have tried that but doesn't seem to make much difference, i.e the timer set to 3 minutes does not shut them down after 3 minutes.
