Thinking of getting a decent upgrade for a boot drive (256GB Samsung). At the same time i'd rather like to take a look at dropping the Perc 5/i out of the system and going to a suitable number of drives for intel RST. They have pretty sucky raid 5 write performance but it seems you can improve the situation somewhat with a little work.
So:
How much time does the intel raid bios add to boot? Mine takes about an extra 30 seconds i'd guess which is mildly annoying, if the intel raid bios post's faster then that's a plus.
Does the SSD caching in Z68+ chipsets allow for caching of a raid 5? (It's the kinda thing someone will have noticed at some point i'd hope).
