Hi, Im looking for a suitable solution for storage + backup of my files; my current setup is as follows:
SB750 Sata ports
6 -- Dvd Drive
5
4 -- Empty Locked to raid
3 -- Empty locked to raid
2 -- 640GB WD Raid 0 Drive 1
1 -- 640GB WD Raid 0 Drive 2
G-Sata JMB322 sata ports (smart backup) port 1 = source; port 2 = backup
4 -- Unused paired 3/4
3 -- Unused Paired 3/4
2 -- 2TB WD Green
1 -- 1TB WD Green
This question is for the G-sata; if I was to use the Smart backup feature would it be possible to partition the 2TB drive. This is because the gigabyte software "safe" raid setup is a mirror and 1TB will be wasted as it has to be the same size as drive 1. I didnt relise this when i got the drive and now I am stuck on a solution any help
open to other backup solutions non-raid.
