Iam still looking for suggestions on how to set up 4x500gb drives.
I originially was gonna use one as a portable hard-drive but was thinking that i could use my 120gb IDE drive from this machine as the portable option? would performance be seriously crippled?

then how should i set up ym raid? in what config and how would i go around installing it.
then of course suggestion for partioning it.
was thinking
100gb for vista and shizzle
150gb for applications
250gb for games
then 500gb shared between music and videos.

again open to suggestions and how to set up partitions.

you have 150gigs of apps and 250 gigs of games?

id say its best to install games/apps/os all on same partition, then have your Data on another, and finally a third partition with the rest of the space as a storage/scratch partition

i dont know tbh
this one has really been lacking in space so if need something new i uninstall something else.
basically the only main app i use at the moment, apart from the standard windows stuff is photoshop.

and the computer just arrive and is now sitting in my room

asked my dad where the vista CD was and he said it was allready installed...bah...was kinda looking forward to that
at the moment only two hard-drives are in, and iam not sure if they are raid0. if they arent can i make them or would i have to reinstall vista over the two?
