Ive got issues with my raid it seems that when my pc is idle my 0+1 goes down i come back to find my pc has rebooted and the raid is rebuilding.

the 0+1 is not my OS drive

the 0+1 is made up of the 7200.11 drives that are prown to failure but i have updated them with the newer firmware fix

the main thing to note would be just as the intel raid manger pops up during the bios its says AHCI Bios not found or words to that effect.

its the intel 9 raid chip

does anyone have ideas on how to fix the issue.

Is the array set to spin down in the power options? I wonder if the controller isn't spotting the spin down command for what it is and thinking the drives have gone offline.

I assume the SATA Mode in OnChip IDE Device is set to RAID?

Are you using the latest drivers and software for the ICH9R raid function, ie. Intel Matrix Software Manager/Drivers and Intel Chipset Installation Software?

Just before this started did you have any power interruptions/blackouts on you system, or did you add/remove any software/hardware, or change any settings?

Sometimes it is caused when the pc crashes when im overclocking i can understand that

its a pretty new install so i guess when i downloaded the drivers they were the latest.

Its just that sometimes the disc's cause the crash

Also ive noticed that 2 of the 7200.11's are read as sata 150's and 2 are sata 300's

The bios is set to raid

Ill check the spindown power now EDIT where do i find the options for power spin down i have intel Matrix storage on adavanced mode but cant find anything to do with options on the arrays themselfs

I just find it weird that just before Intel raid control status comes up in the bios i get the message no AHCI bios found? :S
