Raid question

I currently have a Hitachi 250GB HD. I will be buying a Hitachi 400GB soon as I need more storage space, however would it be possible to raid the two drives? or would this be asking for trouble?

What RAID Level? Purpose? Yes, it is possible but you lose 150GB from the 400GB whichever way you look at it.

Would be raid 0. Purpose = speed.

Looks like I would be best off selling my 250GB and buying two 400GB. Losing 150GB from the 400GB HD would be a waste.
