Hi
Just setup raid on my gigabyte ud5 motherboard ...all works fine ..
Just a quick question as new to raid ....when system boots up it loads a raid screen ...then lists the drives etc ....then boots to windows ...guess this is the norm as seems to take longer now to boot than before raid setup ..
only slow upto when windows starts to load .
I guess this is normal as it has to load the raid drivers etc just seeing if other have this too

thanks

Yes that's perfectly normal.

Yes the BIOS has to do extra work with a RAID setup so you should expect an extra screen detecting the array(s) - not a major detraction though for the benefits from using RAID.

Most of the added time i found is the raid bios pausing to give you time to press the buttons to enter the raid bios.

why carn't they put a function in the bios to skip the process ( time to press button to enter raid bios ) try and make it a bit quicker lol
