Need a bit of help and advice guys, on setting up raid.

I have a 250GB Samsung Evo with my OS installed on it. Now, I have acquired another one, which I want to use in a raid array for faster boot and loading times.
Is there any way I can set this up, without having to re-install my OS?

I have read that you can make a backup copy of your existing OS to another drive and wipe the ssd. Then add 2nd ssd and set up raid via the bios. Once the set up is complete, you then copy the OS back, using your OS disc or USB.

Any and all help and advice greatly appreciated.

You can do it with some disk imaging software that supports raid. However, it's a lot of hassle for very little added benefit. The only time you'll notice a difference between raid and non-raid is in benchmarks. The added delay at POST while the RAID initializes will actually increase your boot time as well.

theres a reg hack/tweak you can do that lets windows install the raid drivers

I had to do it to enable caching mode, its same for raid

do that first so windows is running in raid, then clone the single ssd/os to spare drive/then format original windows install add in the other ssd and create the raid array then clone the os back to the new array

ive never tried it but should work far as im aware

Cheers for the feedback guys.

Decided not to bother, but just use the new drive to install all my most played games.

Cheers lads.
