Hello,

I'm considering wether or not it would benefit me to use a raid setup on my PC as i'm tired of everything taking so long...

Which kind of raid would be the best solution;

Using less but "bigger" drives or several small dirves? :confused:

And which manufacturer would you recommend?

Regards legraudal

RAID 0 will make no noticable difference once window shas loaded but will take a bit longer for booting as you have to load teh raid drivers first then reboot.

Just took my m4's out of RAID and boost speeds are 10 / 20 seconds faster

You will notice virtually no difference in day to day usage between a single SSD and 2 in raid 0. In fact the raid drives will probably be slightly slower to boot because the computer has to initialize the raid drivers on startup. If you are running some form of high performance database / server then it may be worth it, otherwise stick with a single SSD, it will be a huge upgrade from your existing mechanical drive.

Why don't you just get a single SSD? No point going from a conventional drive straight into RAID 0 SSD's (which as above isn't worth it)!

Sure, which SSD-drive would you recommend me to buy, as it seems there is a huge difference in how they work and react to different things? :confused:

ocz "used" to have bad rep with SSD'd as they failed and died.

I believe the new generation are totaly fine but I would still rather go with

Samsung
Crucial
or
intel
