Hey i have 2x37gb raptor drives i want to join them both together and run as 1 drive under windows

I have a ds4 board f6 bios

I have just been reading about raid etc i dont no much about it
just need a Tutorial and is raid config 0 best for faster performance?

you have 2 options

RAID0 - Splits the files up over the 2 drives. Faster Performance, but if 1 drive dies, you lose all your data.
RAID1 - 1 Drive has your data, the other has an exact copy. If one drive dies, you have a backup. Slower than a single drive, as it has to back the data up as it writes, but equal read speeds.

You need to create the RAID0 array in the mobo BIOS, the manual should give you the exact steps.

Then when you go to install Windows press F6 when prompted to allow you to add drivers for an additional storage controller (the RAID array). You'll need these on a floppy, the mobo CD will have a set of drivers or some form of disk image to make the floppy. I think that board may have more than one RAID controller, make sure you create the floppy for the one which you've plugged the drives into.

When the install asks for the floppy stick it in and follow the instructions on screen. From there on the install should be as normal.
