RAID - worth it?

I have 2 samsung 830 256GBs.

One is used for OS, programs and games. The other is there to look pretty (doesn't even have a partition).

Would it be worth putting them in RAID 0? I have heard varying accounts of RAID with regard to whether it speeds anything up and also if trim works.

Motherboard is a Z77 MPower, CPU a 2550K and OS is 8.1

Does TRIM work in RAID? Also would cloning the old windows install onto the new raid array have any negative side effects?

I would like the convenience of having less drives to manage, hence why my 2nd SSD is in RAW format so I don't accidentally select it for something.
