note: raid is not a method of back up, levels 1 and 5 sound interesting in this respect but you should still back up data regularly, to another PC or to CD/DVD. If you are going with raid 0 for speed even more so as if a drive fails you will be screwed!
I know people say that they have never had a hard drive fail on them, but the more drives you have, the higher the probability that you will have one fail.
