okay, when i first started building pcs i heard that hdd become unreliable when in raid and fail. now when they say fail do they mean the data gets corrupted or the hard drive really does die?

if they do die, is it the same with ssds?

thanks :D

i think you mean the raid array failing, in which case you will lose the data on both drives

the drives themselves will be fine and you can format and use them again .

afaik, its the same with SSDs as its the RAID that has the problem irrelevant of what drives you use
