Hello, I currently have RAID setup.. i think..

I am unsure of how to test if the RAID has actually worked, is their any tips on how? because the windows 7 benchmarking tool thing stayed at 5.9 for hard drives, which is what it was before i added a second HDD.

Also their is stuff everytime i startup telling me about my RAID (saying both discs are active or something) is there a way to get rid of this?

Thanks :)

Some RAID controllers have an option in their bios which prevents the startup screen from showing. When you see the raid details come up, enter the RAID configuration bios and have a look around. It might be worth checking your motherboard manual or visiting the motherboard manufacturers website for configuraion details.

Whilst in the RAID configuration screen, it will also tell you the type of raid you have selected.

I thought the highest mechanical drives could achieve under the Win7 Index was 5.9.

Could run something like HDTune for the read speeds - Im sure someone would be able to tell you if your getting RAID 0 speeds or not.

Hey thanks for the replies!
Well the RAID is RAID 0 :)
HDtune results:
minimum transfer rate 42.3mb/s
Maximum 179.6mb/s
average 139mb/s

Access time 14.0ms
Burst Rate 127.7

"When you see the raid details come up, enter the RAID configuration bios and have a look around"

Is this the ctrl - i?
As my motherboard is gigabyte, if i plug the 2 sata ports into A and B it comes up with a different type of RAID configurator :/, (ctrl + G) though i have done this one through ports 0 and 1, which i understand to be the intel RAID?

When my computer boots, it shows the screen with info about my 2 drives and such, and then says "to enter RAID bios press ctrl + i" then if i leave it, it will go to another screen (which i think is the Gigabyte version of RAID?) which says "no drives detected" then it carries on booting normally :/ weird.
