I have 2 Samsung 64Gb SSD's in raid 0, last time I rebuilt my system into a new case one of the drives had a error next to it on the raid screen, in the end I deleted and rebuilt the array then did a fresh install.

Last night while doing some overclocking I had a BSOD which took a rather long time to do the memory dump, when I restarted I had an error showing next to 1 of the drives again but left it to boot anyway, it all booted into windows fine but then the raid software came up and said I should back-up my data.

Should I be worried? Is there anyway to fix it without losing my data and having to re-install again?

Thanks

If anything ever told me to back up my data, and I cared about the data, I think I'd take it's advice!

Do you get a red exclamation mark down the bottom right of the screen? Does double clicking it come up with the disk manager with an option to 'Mark as Normal'?

Its only my OS drive, all important stuff is on my 1.5TB.

Yes there was the option to mark as normal which I did hoping it would go away. Will have a look see if it still complains when I get home from work in about 30 mins.

'Mark as normal' makes it temporarily go away -- in my case -- for a few days.

I found my personal permanent fix by installing a normal non-raid, SATA hard disk on the SATA connection above the RAID SATA connections on the motherboard. It makes no logical sense to me, but I just shoved a cruddy old 60 quid 500gb Samsung in my rig .. and for some reason never had raid issues again once the hard disk controller also had a 'normal' hard disk to look at!!

As previously said .. my solution makes no logical sense -- but it worked for me!

The error no longer shows on the raid screen during boot, maybe just a blip?

Lets hope it stays working.

Thanks for your help.

mr x how you finding the Samsungs? Just seen the price for the 64gig ones and they are cheaper than the Vertex

Well I paid £200 for my 2 and I don't think you will get a single 120Gb drive as fast for the same money, at £300 for 2 its harder to call.
