Hi ALl,

I put my 2 old 74gb Raptors in my new build as RAID 0, one of them has a SMART error message on boot and has been crashing out and disapearing from the array. Its been very slow recently and doing lots of seeking it seems. I intend to replace this RAID 0 with 1 none Raid HD probably a 750gb Hitachi Deskstar.

My question is this, is it possible for me to put the new HD in the machine and copy all of the contents from the Raid Array onto it, allowing me to carry on with the OS and progarms as they are now ?

Basically I dont want to have to go through a complete install again if I can help it.

Cheers

You could take an image of the disc with Norton Ghost and then load that image onto the new drive. But if one of the Raptors is on the way out then I wouldn't bother as there's be no telling what is corrupt within the existing file system.
