I may of accidentally bought 2 30GB Vertex drives (I meant to buy 1 but forgot about one I'd bid for on ebay which I then won!) so figured I would just stick them together in RAID0 to increase the size more than anything, but I guess it will offer a slight speed increase too.

Anyway, just been looking through the SSD info sticky and it says you cant use TRIM if your drives are in RAID0... is that still true? Going to be quite annoying if thats the case :( or is there some way around this? Can you still use the garbage collection as a substitution?

Also, never set up a RAID array before and just wondering what settings you guys would recommend for stripe size and such? And I understand I can just set up the array from in the BIOS when the drives are installed right?

Bit of a noob when it comes to drives, all Ive ever done is plug them straight in and then maybe partition them haha, not much at all!

I think most companies are going to release something like a manual garbage cleaner for raid-0 stuff - just a matter of waiting a bit and by the time it comes out i doubt anyone will be complaining of slow speeds. Get to the vendors webiste and search the support pages and I'm sure you will get the answer you need in no time. OCZ seem to be quite good at working towards getting their formware updated. They already have released a WIPER.exe tool which is like a manual version of trim so maybe that will sort you out.
I got 2 x 64 crucials in raid-0 just gonna use them and when I can them up I will do - just a waiting game. People saying that a "heavily used" ssd with perf deg will still be blisteringly faster than any HDD.

Yea, been having a browse around on the OCZ forums and some good help on there, but opinions are mixed on RAID and garbage collection/TRIM. Best to just set it up and see what happens haha, like you say, still going to be way faster than my HDD
