Due to some PC issues I decided to just reinstall windows, and at the same time updated the motherboard bios to try and rule any possible issues out. However, in doing so something seems to have happened to my RAID5 array. Going into the RAID setup at post shows all of the hard drives connected to my PC, however it notes that the RAID array has failed, and two of the drives that made up part of the array are now displayed as Non-RAID disks. Naturally losing two drives is what's caused the array to fail I would assume, however I don't see any option in the management screen here to actually add them back into the array, the only options I can select are to 1) create 2) delete and 3) reset disks to non-raid
The 4) recovery volume options and 5) acceleration options are both greyed out.
The management screen does correctly have all the info on the raid; size, type etc.
In Windows, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology program shows the RAID as failed, two disks are marked as 'missing' port unknown. It lists the serial number of the missing drives, which match up with two of the drives it lists below as not being part of the array, except the missing ones in the array have a :0 on the end of the serial number.
So... is there any way I can get my computer to realise that the drives are there, they are plugged in, and they should work? I do have separate backups of the important stuff, but there was still a lot of non important stuff on there that I'd rather not go through the bother of setting up again.
