RAIDing disks what happens to the data?

Is it possible to raid disks without losing data?, If so could you please state how?

When you do a RAID then you will lose the data. You will need to move the data to another disk and then create the RAID and copy the data back.

Depends on the type of RAID and the quality of the RAID controller. You can easily create a RAID1 array with most controllers without losing any data. I also know that nVidia's RAID controller will allow you to convert a RAID1 array (2 disks, mirrored) into a RAID1+0 array (mirrored and striped with 4 disks) without losing any data because I've done it myself. Creating a RAID0 array I'm not too sure about. It should technically be possible to do, but I wouldn't be surprised if most controllers required the disks to be wiped first. Some might be able to create the array without losing data though.
