*** Railworks 2 DLC Bargain - 78% Off!! - Now Only £149.99 ***

Shows you how poor/badly their sales went, desperate to get it off the ground. The whole scheme of Railwork 2 is mad though, practically every single addon has to be paid for. You get a nearly empty simulator and to build it up to a decent collection, it cost you small fortune. Insane, I wonder if the new upcoming MS Flight will have the same pay for addons scheme, if it does, I certainly won't bother.

Why do people insist on repeatedly bashing this game on this thread?

It has lots of DLC, it is the ultimate sandbox, why not?

This is not a bash at anyone, just an observation as a similiar thread pops up slmost everytime the game is promoted during a sale on Steam.

Maybe because it stupidly over priced (even that an unstatement :D)

Normal price.
£687.35 just for the DLC plus £29.99 for the game..
Total £717.34 for one game with DLC

It is a sandbox though for which you purchase the DLC which suits your needs/wants.

What is wrong with choice?

The DLC is not developed by one company, it is developed by many, ultimately, the user wins as they get more choice.

The DLC should not be looked at as "You need all of it to enjoy the game", you should look at it as there maybe £50 worth which you want to make the game as enjoyable as you desire.

Pffft! That's a bargain! Try Rock Band. Six games in the main console series, 1,228 tracks released as DLC and instruments that cost as much as a couple of hundred quid each. I'd be surprised if that lot totalled less than £1500 (probably closer to £2k)

Between Rock Band and Guitar Hero I've probably spent about the same as this game costs with all DLC.

In most games I play, people make free DLCs and mods. Civ 4 > Fall From Heaven, Oblivion > Nehrim, also loads of addons for the normal game.

A price tag of over £500 just for DLC is just bloody retarded. A price of £149 is slightly less retarded, but still bears a small resemblance with downs syndrome.

It would be so much better to just make an open source railroad sim game where anyone can mod and create this stuff, and distribute it for free.

Even though I've never played the game, I have a special hatred for Railworks because every time I click the 'Just Released' tab in Steam to see what's new, all I see is dozens of Railworks DLC spam. Drives me spare.
