Just bought some of this and I've applied it to all windows and my mirrors. There seems to be conflicting opinions here, so I shall report back tomorrow/Saturday as I'm sure it will bucket it down at some point :D

Saturday = Heavy Rain for my forecast :)

While I was putting it on I noticed a few small chips which I'd better sort out soon... annoying that I drove past a "Free windscreen chip repair" marquee too coming away from Halfrauds - D'oh!

Om nom nom, Maryland 4tw :p

RainX is amazing, i commute to work and on the motorway it makes such a difference.

Passengers in my car have even asked if i had special windscreen technology as there was such a difference between their cars visibility in the rain compared to mine.

I highly recommend it.

Carlack glass sealing kit is the best product I have used, applied it over a month ago and still works brilliantly.

Carlack is supposed to last longer.. i believe it's more expensive tho

12.95 for the cleaner and sealant. I have used it once which is probably 1/30th of the bottle. So I guess its going to last a lot longer and in the long run be cheaper than rainx.

I just found an ancient bottle of this under the stairs. I'll give it a go again. Good idea using it on the back window. I've got a saloon with no back wiper so it might help.
