Hi,

noticed we're on Windows 2000 mode atm here even though all our DC's are running windows 2k3.

Any problems I might come across if i raise the functional level ??

Or NT4 machines. Basically the functional level will apply to pretty much anything below what you change it to. So in Windows 2003 functional level would be Windows 2003 (obviously) and XP. Anything older won't work at the domain level.

Raising the domain functional level will only effect domain controllers, member servers and clients are oblivious.

What he said. You can have NT machines no problems as member servers, just not DCs.

2k mixed mode = NT or above DCs
2k native mode = 2k or above DCs
2k3 mode = 2k3 or above DCs
interim = transitional mode to allow migration from NT to 2k3

Be aware however, that once you change the functional level of the domain - you CANNOT change it back.

Indeed, so think about the benefits/drawbacks before committing to a change.
