Great stuff,

Yeah the Grifters were to damn heavy!

Could anyone bunny hop a Kerb on a Grifter? lol

I had a super tuff but the slightly later version with the oval frame. Quite fancy one but reckon i would look a bit of a **** on it nowadays.

I had a budgie, then somehow acquired a commando after the budgie got worn out.

Had Tennents Plastic Barrel Tops in between the spokes :)

Raleigh Extreme!

With the covers on the wheels to make them go faster, i think that was my best ever Xmas present.

Raleigh Chipper, Chopper and Tomahawk were ace and I also had a Raleigh Sun GT racer which was bobbins. I had a Raleigh in the late 70's which was a racer with 12 gears and was THE racer but I can't recall its name. It was black with gold writing (class I know) can anyone remeber what it was called?? It had Reynolds 531 tubing I think and I am trying to recall its name.

Had a tomahawk and a chopper. Wa also the first kid in the street to get a racing bike, a Puch Royal i think it was called, all the kids wanted to try that one out, we used to do time trials up and down the street on it. Then was then envy of all the kids when i got a Raleigh Milk Race Special racer (as well as the mongoose super goose that was essential t be part of the 'in' crowd! haha), that was a flying machine! haha.

The Grifer was made out of pig iron and weighed so much I am surprised it actually stayed upright!

I had the black and red Grifter XL in the early 80's

WHO DECIDED TO PUT SLIP GEAR ON THE HANDLE GEAR CHAGE!?!?! Stand up to pedal and your wrist would put it in slip gear, causing may painfull injuries to the vegtables!

Yeah my PK Ripper was nicked :( My aunt bought it for me in California when i went to visit. Had it shipped back and everything.

Broke my heart :(
