Hey there.

One thing i have always wanted to do more than anything is bomb it round a track in a fast car (some of you lucky gits have!!)

Anyway ive been looking around the net at those days where you can drive round in different ferarri's or in a rally car etc but im unsure which are the best to go for?

Has anyone had a day like this before and can offer any advice? Ta

I think there is a place in wales that has a pretty good one(saw it on a TV documentary and in a news paper advertisement down here once)

/unsure how far away from wales you are

Check the T&Cs, you probably won't meet the requirements for these.

you dont have to be 21 for the phill price rally school in wales, i think thats what its called.

my sister went when she was 18, it was really good.

they had a figure of 8 track that they let you practice on, then they let you go round the rally course, then you get taken around the course by a proffessional rally driver, which is rather scary!!!

What car do they use?

it wouldnt be that fun in a 1.4 fiesta zetec lol!

I tried to get my friend to take his scoobie on one, he wont :(

My mate went to one of these titled a Lamborghini Murcielago track day - he got there and there was a Lamborghini Gallardo which had even been rebadged as a Murcielago and the instructors even refered to it as a Murcielago.

Needless to say he got his money back.

For the figure of eight training there are a couple of mk1/2 escorts.

Then there is a 160BHP mk3/4 escort that the driver takes you round in, and then there is the sierra cosworth which is what you drive around the track under instructor supervision.

None drivers for the day can pay £10 and get taken out by the pro around the track.

My missus bought me one day here about 5 years ago. Amazing day, never forget the pro bombing down the hill, across the figure of 8 and then pulling a 180 spin and reversing into a narrow garage at speed.

My missus was taken around the track and the escort broke down 1/2 way round, so he popped home to get his own personal rally car, escort with 600BHP  lucky cow!

Id already been in the 160BHP escort, that was scary enough. :D

Main thing is with the place is that there are some pretty steep drops, as i nearly found out first hand in the cosworth on my first bend :D

I was 18 when i went, according to the missus.

i was 15 when the guy took me round and too short to see out the windscreen so it didnt seem to scary.

but there was another 15 yr old there who had his own beast and was caning round the circuit which was pretty impressive, he didnt have a driving licence obv
