Hey,

I recenly built my PC, and had a huge problem getting it to POST, as it wouldn't. however i eventually took out 2X1GB RAM broads only leaving 2X1GB in the A1 and B1 connectors, and this worked fine. i then found out that that mode was supported on the QVL list. however i want to use 4GB, is there a way to do this. the mother broad i have is a Asus P5Q-E. and the RAM is OCZ2P800R22GK.

cheers for any help!

asus and OCZ  i have had a few problems with asus boards and OCZ ram in the passed...

with all 4 gigs of ram in have you tried clearing the CMOS.?

using the other 2 x 1gig sticks on there own to make sure they work fine.?

also have a go at manualy setting the timmings and voltage for the ram in the BIOS, would try for 2.0V first :p

I have an Asus P5Q with 4x1gb of the same OCZ ram as yours (OCZ2P800R22GK).

Mine is fine. Perhaps check your memory timings and voltages. Think my voltage is set at 2.0v and timings as in sig.

If running 4x1gb dimm modules you may have to up the NB volts a touch and make sure the ram voltage is set properly.

hey,

Just thought that i would let you know that all you guys are amazing! and that this is the best forum in the world lol!

Changed the RAM voltage to 2.00v and the system is now going to POST and recongizing 4GB.

AMAZING

cheers
