I have just got two 840 Evos in RAID 0, does anyone have any suggestions for ram cache software that is free? I am wanting to allocate 3GB - 4GB to reduce read\write on my SSDs and to improve performance.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for hijacking the thread slightly but what happens if you cache to ram and there is a powercut? Do you lose the cached data and risk corruption?

not sure, with caching though (using an ssd to cache a hdd) if theres a power cut it will recover/rebuild the meta data and write it to the hdd at startup

but a ram disc would be different because ram cant store data if theres no power unlike an ssd can

It will increase the performance, it will also decrease the use of the SSD slightly.

But as I said, surely the real-world gains (that is, in actual usage and not benchmarks) will be minimal? Decreasing the use of the SSD is a silly reason; the whole point is to use them, you aren't going to wear them out.

I have the memory, so why not. Got 16GB.
