Looking for advice on a build I’m working on.

CPU - i9900k (Stock, not stable at 5Ghz without high VCore)
GPU - RTX2080TI

Need to decide on the RAM for the system, I like the look of the GSkill RGB Dual kits, but I’m somewhat stuck on what speed to get. There isn’t really a budget in mind but I also don’t want to throw away £100 extra or so, for 4266Mhz if I’m not going to see a difference from say 3200Mhz.

Is there a sweet spot I should stick to so I’m not wasting money or?

Thanks!

3200mhz is fine, but you want cl16 at the max. Don't get one of the kits that's cl18.

If you get a good 3200mhz cl14/15 kit that chances are it would overclock to 3600mhz or more

Given that manufacturers are increasingly sorting (binning) memory for performance, why would they sell memory as 3200mhz cl14/15 if it would run at 3600mhz or more, surly they would sell it as 3600mhz or more.

Thanks chaps, was looking at 3200 but noticed some 3600 CL17 for about same price so I’ve bit the bullet at that!

Think the CL17 is okay since I’ve gone up in MHz?

Thanks!
