i bought some kingston hyperx 2400mhz but it seems not compatable with my asrock extreme motherboard it isnt on compatability list, which is here http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%2...e4/?cat=Memory

now i dont know which ones overclockers sell of that compatability list ? but could someone point me in the right direction of a 8gb 2x 4gb sticks or whatever i can get that will definately work on my motherboard, on compatability list there

It'll be fine, the list is just a guideline, they can't test every RAM kit out there. As long as it's DDR3 it will work with your motherboard.

What motherboard do you have? The link you pasted to the memory list doesn't work (you seemed to have pasted one that was already shrunk).

Go into BIOS, then click on "OC Tweaker". Scroll down to the "DRAM Timing Configuration" section, then under "Load XMP Setting", choose Profile. This will set the speed and timings of your RAM. Then scroll down further to "Voltage Configuration" and under "DRAM Voltage" set it to 1.65v.

After that, save, then reboot into Windows. Check the RAM speed and it should say 2400mhz.

Accessories, snipping tool then upload to tinypic and copy/paste the forum url here

Are you using latest mb BIOS btw?

yeh the latest bios i have done

X.m.p should work, see the fourth screenshot down? It shows x.m.p profile for 2400mhz @ 1.65v dram voltage

Pretty sure it will set it to that profile if you click on xmp in the BIOS then save/exit

i have tried it m8 and still no luck ?

i must need to do something else in the bios ? it isnt on the support list memory neither on asrock site, for extreme 4 motherboard

i need someone who lives in manchester who could help me with the setup ?

slow the RAM down to 1600 mhz try at that.

Looking at the ASRock site it only supports 1600mhz standard speeds everything above thats is Overclocked.

Under the XMP profile settings, if there was a "Profile 2" try that, your RAM has settings for 2133 speeds. Again, leave the other RAM options on auto but set the DRAM voltage to 1.6v.

If that doesn't work, go back into BIOS, disable the XMP profile and under "DRAM Frequency" set it to 1600mhz.

[cut]. WHat mobo says during startup (how reset looks like, any beeps, and boot messages on POST) once you pick up other XMP profile ?
