Hi all.

Soon, I will have an Gigabyte K8NS Ultra S939 4D AGP 5P SND LAN SATAR ATX motherboard. I already own 1x 1GB and 2 x512MB (all 3 sticks are double sided) of Corsair xms3200c2pt ddr400 platinum ram.

If I put the 3 sticks into the new motherboard, would there be no dual channeling at all? Or would there be dual channeling between the 2x512MB sticks only?

If pairs of sticks are required for any dual channeling to occur, is 2x1GB better than filling all 4 available ram slots with 2x1GB and 2X512MB? This may seem an obviously silly question as 3GB is supposedly better than 2GB, but I ask because I read on the cpu forums that filling all 4 slots of a 4-slot motherboard will lower the overall performance of the ram.

Thank you all in advance.
