Ram / CPU Cooler query

I am looking to put together a new rig nothing majorly fancy just something that will keep me tideing by for the next wee while. I have been out of the loop for a bit so needing help with the following

I have looked at the following parts

4670K Retail
Asus Hero or Gene ( not quite sure yet )
Patriot Venom Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C9 1866MHz
Alpenföhn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler

Now my daft question is will the ram fit with this Cooler as i was trying to keep it aesthetically to black/red at this time until i can decide if i want to watercool it.

If not can you suggest any that may be better suited

The Mamba RAM isn't really that tall and does fit under the K2 Mount Doom.

The Asus Maximus mobo didn't a great review to be honest and that's the more expensive version. TTL of OC3D was very vocal about this in his video review. I'm not sure of your budget or what you need but I could suggest.....

Obviously the H100 removes any issues over RAM height, I just added it in as an option as they are a bit of a bargain. The Ronin can mount the H100 and like the Shinobi, it too will get coloured grills you can buy to colour code the case to your liking
