so my pc was running fine ever since i put in another stick of ram.

i used to run 4gb of ram (1 stick)

now i put in another stick of ram (the same as the other stick) and suddenly my pc does not start up properly.

i hit the power button and my fans start running but i get no display on my monitor, i sometimes have to turn it off and on pver 4 times to get it working and when it does start working the cpu fan spins faster and i can actually hear it ramp up.

i took out the stick of ram and my pc work fine suddenly

my question is what do i do and how do i solve this problem?

thanks in advance

i mean when the computer turns on with the 2nd ram installed, windows detects it and everything works fine, its just when i boot up the pc is when i have the problem.

Flash the BIOS to the latest one on the Gigabyte site.

Use QFlash (within the BIOS) to do this.

How does the PC perform with just the new ram stick in - you might of tried this already.

also is it a matched stick or similar spec/speed/timings ect to your original ram

as above you need to test with just the new stick in either slot one at a time, could be faulty ram module

i have the exact same ram sticks.

im pretty sure the ram module works because my pc works fine when im using it the only problem i have is getting it to start up.
