I noticed in the description it says: "has been designed specifically to support the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 dual channel memory DDR3 solutions".

So if one were to use this RAM in an AMD setup would there be a significant drop in performance? I know there's 2 reviews on the link saying it's fine for AMD, but I just want to make sure :)

Cheers

It's just marketing. Will work fine in an AMD setup :)

This is not necessarily correct. Please check our list at the Corsair site. We perform extensive internal testing and "some" ICs will not perform as well as others on AMD rigs. That's why we have different part numbers for AMD in some instances.

Check under the MEMORY tab or use the MEMORY FINDER.

FYI, this is a much more accurate statement:

It will work, but may not run at the rated speed and timings though. Depends on the IMC.

I've asked this before and was surprised to find that it does make a difference, hence I'm looking for a decent i7 6GB kit that doesn't cost the earth ;)
