I am looking for basically a step by step guide to creating a RAM disk so I can have a play around without fear of breaking anything!

I have been playing HoN recently and noticed the increase in load speed from normal HDD to SSD. I wanna see how big the difference is when its from a RAM disk :D

So if anyone knows of any decent tutorials or is willing to make a walk though I would be grateful.

Really depends on what you're using to make the RAM disk, i've used DataRAM RAMDisk, and its basically as easy as 1 2 3, just follow the prompts . You can get the ram disk up in tens of seconds after installing and then just install stuff onto it. Free verison is only 4GB max though, paid is unlimited.

hmm since I already have HoN installed could I juts copy over the install folder and delete it when I am done? the install folder is only like 700mb max.

And I take it removing the RAM disk is as easy as unmounting it/uninstalling dataRAM?

You can create multiple ramdrive images on the HD and load/unload them as you see fit, this saves having to manually move folders. If the software doesn't like its folder being moved, just install it to the ramdrive then click on "save ramdrive to HD", then you can load/unload it without having to reinstall it.
