Ram for 4930k on RiveBE

Suppose that would help. I am getting more into benching and want to be able to oc the ram easily enough. Under £250 would be nice. Machine other than clocking, benching and gaming will be light photo editing and folding at home

Does it make much difference to buy two packs of dual channel memory vs a pack of quad channel memory. As far as my reading on various sites seems not to matter much as long as you go for the same brand and specifications?

Thanks

hi i own this ram and cant seem to get it above 2133 in xmp
in manual setting 1.65v at 2400/2666 wont boot.
i regret wasting my money on it now.

whats your sa/vtt voltages set to???

should be at or around 1.25v

have you set to

Rampage tweak, mode 3
dram current 120%
set also to optimised

do the above for both channels

also enter your timings manually, sometimes helps

try these

10
12
12
31
1t
8
196
7936
16
10
24
10
8
9

leave 3rds on auto for now.

Be careful with this mate - its advised by raja@asus (on ROG forums) not to mix memory even if its of the same make and model on quad setups.

saying that I'm risking it anyway as I really wanted 32Gb. Currently got 2 x 8gb G Skill Ripjaws x 1866 stuff, but to sell then buy the same again but quad channel would mean dishing out another £50.

Instead I've just purchased another set and have the expectation that I may need to faff around a bit to get them working but hey at least I won't lose out much by just selling the dual and moving to quad. its a risk i am willing to accept for now.

It looks like they have been discontinued :(

And the stores that do have them have bumped the price sky wards

As you know a few in the trade you may be able to source a set or 2 (hint hint):D

I had a set of C10's and they were poor

Cokrsair have no Samsung IC hence no C9 2400 or C10 2666. I use the C10 2666 stuff for benching I have a couple of kits and the Special Vengeance ones we competed with at Computex.

C10 will be Hynix CFR at a guess.

Clayer did those settings work for ya?? Team Group 2600C10 do 2666 in all mu ASUS X79 ROG boards with all my CPU with some fine tuning. Always go quad kits not 2 x Dual to ensuire matched SPD tables.,
