Ram issues

Can you return the CPU if box is open?

Are you going to switch to AM5 now or see if you can get a cheap/SH AM4 motherboard?

Did you break off any pins on the 5700X3D?
No so i destroyed the 5700x3d tring to fix it.
Got it all working again last night. Did a bios update and it all booted with 2 sticks of ram.

But still potentially need a new motherboard. I was playing squad last night, everything was fine for about 40 minutes, cpu and gpu temps all good.and it shut down on me again.
i have a new cpu, i changed my psu from a 650w to 850w and its still shutting down.

So potentially my motherboard cant handle my gpu and cpu and is overheating somthing on it and closing down.

Suppose it could be the motherboard, but why it shuts off after about 40 minutes i don't know unless something on the board is overheating.

Have you tried CMOS reset by removing the battery?

Be a shame if it is the board and the CPU was destroyed for no reason. :(

Just had a quick look at required spec on steam and squad will run on 8GB so it might be worth trying with just one stick to see if it still crashes...

Then test again with the alternative stick...

Is the old cpu completly mashed, someone might be able to straighten bent pins unless they actually snapped.

Have you tested RAM with Memtest 86? For errors. I do that when I buy new RAM. Then send it back if it fails test.

He's run a Windows mem test, tried them in another PC and tried different slots one stick at a time but that was before he replaced the CPU.

In the previous post I suggested he ran the game with one stick to see if it still crashed but he could also run memtest on it as well like you suggested.

At this point its a toss up between mobo, GPU, bad game install or something buggy with the OS unless the game he's playing is stressing the ram more than the windows test he tried did.
