RAM Latency Questions please

Hi,

My ram is speced officially at

9-9-9--28

Do i leave them at this or change them i.e lower them.

Also how do you oc ram or dont u do this

650w psu
2x 4gb geil leggera 1600mhz 9-9-9-28 - 1.5v
2x 4gb hyper x 1600mhz 9-9-9-27 1.65v

How should I set these up in the bios with the last latency number been different and voltage different

you might be able to lower the timings but with that usually means raising dram voltages and or cpu vtt,same goes for overclocking the ram speed,some brands/models wont oc verywell

use memtest86 and prime95 blend test to test for stability

do you have x.m.p in the bios? if you enable that it will set the timing, voltages,speed(that the ram is specced at) for you

i do have xmp profile but there different branded sticks

2x geil leggera
2x kingston hyper x

your best to set them up manually if they are different brands

set dram to 1.55v,top four timing to 9-9-9-28,set ram speed to 1600mhz,your motherboard manual will help show you where everything is in the bios

Memory rated at 27 will definitely run at 28, but memory rated at 28 might not run at 27.

1.55V won't be a problem.

FWIW I have the same Kingston memory and it runs fine at 1600MHz and 1.5V.
