Hello,

One of the sticks failed, Got to replace it.

Question is, this item that I got now

And if I got this

Will it work?

I mean looks the same but the model is different and not XMP.. Or I have to buy pack of two again ?????

well, in terms of buying one single 8GB stick or buy the pack of 2x 8GB sticks again that are the same and replace and continue as planned. Meantime RMA has been sent and waiting to hear from them and see if I send them back

In regards to your original question, "will it work?", I assume you mean, pair the non-failed stick with a single stick? It's hard to say. Corsair don't state what memory chips they use, so you could buy two identical sticks and end up with Micron on one, and Samsung on the other. That doesn't mean they won't together, but it's not ideal. The safest option is always to buy a matched pair.

I ended up buying the same ram again as a pack of two 2x8GB with the same model number and whatnot to be on the safe side. So spend more money after all :(
