Hi im getting a C2D E6600, but i have yet to decide on MOBO and RAM, i dont thnk il be overclocking anytime soon so thats not an issue, im not wanting to spend a huuuuuge amount! I was just wondering what my combination choices were.

This would probably be where my money would go, I might suggest an aftermarket cooler such as a Scythe Ninja (on This Week Only), Tuniq Tower or Noctua also.

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £69.99

i had seen that one but i didnt know if there are any compatibility issues :S ive got about £150 to spend on the mobo and £115 on RAM

Alternatively, £265 on a combination of the two :p

I think the setup semi-pro waster suggested seems good.

Then add the Scythe Ninja cooler and the system should be near enough silent :)

Just need to think about hard drives now...
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB ST3500630AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM £97 ;)

BeatMaster :D

EDIT:

Have a look at this thread: here

Also, motherboard wise, perhaps look at the Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3

Should run fine with one card. Although the mobo is SLI, it only operates x16 PCIe on one slot. If you have two cards in SLI it drops to x8, so you wouldn't be able to have two 8800GTXs, which are x16 only. :D
