Hi, im new to OCing so please bear with me

I have my p35cds3r mobo, q6600, turniq tower and geil 6400 setup and im trying to overclock it, now ive been reading the basic overclocking thread and it advises me to reduce the ram multiplier to stock or less, the problem is that the lowest multiplier is 2.5 on this board so when i try and clock above 3.0ghz the ram is above stock and i cant keep it any lower

At this point do i increase the ram voltage as im getting bsod and freezes

Thanks for your help

Maybe simular to what I was going to ask, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in also.

I have a Core2 Duo e6600 which is at 2808.0MHz (312x9)and Im trying to run my memory at 800MHz but I am experiencing the same issue as above although my system is stable. The recomended timings are 4-4-4-15 for my OCZ Platinum PC2-6400.

Any ideas

dont mind at all mate, thats what forums are for :-}

Thats a bit more like it :) You're E6600 should be fine at 3Ghz, most will hit 3.2+

Mines cuurently on Stock cooling with AS5 Paste, so an investment in a decent HSF coming next week I think. Might buy the Noctua with 2 Zalman 120mm fans as I have had some good results on my Q6600.

The only issue Im confused about is when I up the overclock the Memory changes and moves up from 800MHz.

im already at +3v ram so where do i go from here? i cant get it to go any further without problems

There are x2.0 and x2.4 multipliers. Press Enter on the option and go up and down the sub-menu til you find it.

Your right! ive always assumed that because 2.5 is the first one that it increases after that, cant believe i didnt see that, thanks
