This is one of the main factories for nVidia GDDR5 we are told, so expect a major issue for the green team with production and pricing.
I'd think the majority of GPU board partners already have healthy allocations from Samsung and Elpida for upcoming cards.
Well this is bad news. I was going to wait and see what comes out in the next few months, but now I am not too sure if I should get a new graphics card now. When the prices of hard drives went up it took about a year for them to come back down?
I bought some ram in june, Samsung Green (8GB) - at £55 or thereabouts.
Tonight, having heard the news, i got wifely permission to blow a bit extra on some more, and saw this:
